Meet the Libraries Student Workers

At the University Libraries, more than 30 students are part of the team that keeps facilities open and services available for the CMU community. These students staff the circulation desks at both Hunt and Sorrells libraries, serve as Stacks Assistants, assist the University Archives and the Sustainability Initiative with processing collections and engaging in outreach, and more.

Open Access By the Numbers

KiltHub is a comprehensive institutional repository maintained by the University Libraries and hosted on the figshare platform, where Carnegie Mellon University researchers and their collaborators can share the scholarly outputs and research data produced in the course of their research. KiltHub curates, collects, preserves, and provides open access to this material as part of the Libraries' commitment to open scholarship and collaboration.

Registration Opens for AI Literacy Workshop

On Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1, the Libraries is hosting a two-day, hands-on workshop designed to introduce attendees to frameworks for applying AI responsibly and effectively. Undergraduate and graduate students from across campus are invited to register to attend, whether they are already involved in building their own AI, or are simply interested in exploring AI opportunities in the future.

Lunar New Year Celebration Photo Gallery

On Wednesday, January 29, more than 75 members of the CMU community gathered at Hunt Library to celebrate the first day of the Lunar New Year. Attendees kicked off the Year of the Snake with traditional Lunar New Year activities, including fortune telling, Chinese zodiac animal hand puppets, origami, and enjoying dumplings and other treats. Everyone who attended also received a lucky red envelope, which symbolizes good luck and prosperity.
