A crowd of community partners, sponsors, state and local officials and special guests gathered at a special reception Oct. 5 on the Carnegie Mellon University campus to celebrate the opening of Violins of Hope Greater Pittsburgh, a community project centered on the lessons of diversity, equity and inclusion.

In recognition of Constitution Day 2023, the University Libraries and the Division of Student Affairs hosted the virtual lecture, “Presidential Personalities and Constitutional Power Grabs in Latin America, 1945-2021,” about constitutions in Latin American countries and the efforts of presidents to alter them. Last month, a new exhibit, “Color Constructs,” opened on the fourth floor of Hunt Library. It features 45 color studies in model, collage, and digital form from students in 48543/48643 Color Constructs course taught by Associate Professor Laura Garófalo in the School of Architecture.
