Open Access Tipping Point Public Forum
On August 29, the University of California (UC) host the Open Access Tipping Point Public Forum in Washington, DC. This event was intended to advance understanding of the value and opportunities associated with negotiating, participating in, and supporting transformative open access agreements for all stakeholders in the scholarly publishing community – publishers, societies, funders, libraries, and academic authors. Call for Proposals - Digital Initiatives Symposium 2020
The Digital Initiatives Symposium at the University of San Diego is accepting proposals for its full day conference on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Proposals for Concurrent Sessions and Lightning Talks for a wide-range of topics are being accepted at digital.sandiego.edu/symposium until the deadline of Friday, November 22, 2019.

Scholarly Communication at CMU

October Figshare Deposit Contest
To Celebrate Open Access Week 2019, CMU will be participating in a month-long repository deposit contest throughout the month of October. CMU's KiltHub repository will be competing against the rest of the global Figshare For Institutions community who use their repository in a similar way as KiltHub, as a comprehensive repository of research datasets and other scholarly outputs. The top two institutions with the most uploads will receive 100TB and 50TB of AWS storage respectively and each uploader will receive swag. We are working on a new design for some enamel pins so participants will receive those and stickers. As a special note - CMU has participated in the last four contests, winning 1st place three times and 3rd once.
