Lunar New Year Celebration Photo Gallery

On Wednesday, January 29, more than 75 members of the CMU community gathered at Hunt Library to celebrate the first day of the Lunar New Year. Attendees kicked off the Year of the Snake with traditional Lunar New Year activities, including fortune telling, Chinese zodiac animal hand puppets, origami, and enjoying dumplings and other treats. Everyone who attended also received a lucky red envelope, which symbolizes good luck and prosperity.

Discover & Discuss - February 2025: Black History Month

February is Black History month, where the focus is on the experiences and history of African Americans, both as a whole and as individuals. Celebrating a rich cultural heritage, it is an opportunity to spotlight the achievements that African Americans have accomplished in this country, despite the long and continuing history of racism and oppression. Enjoy these ebooks and streaming films and be sure to check out the rotating display of physical books and videos in the main lobby of Hunt Library!

Event Recording: Heading to the Point: AI for All

On November 18, the University Libraries and Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer Wanda Heading-Grant hosted "Heading to the Point: AI for All." The event featured a discussion with two experts leading the push to ensure the responsible development of artificial intelligence: Renée Cummings, Assistant Professor of the Practice in Data Science at the University of Virginia, and Associate Dean for Digital Infrastructure Sayeed Choudhury.
