Open Source Design Opportunity for Students at Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC)

A team of six students, with sponsorship from an industry partner, will design and build small clusters, learn scientific applications, and apply optimization techniques for their chosen architectures. Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in open source research computing, form valuable relationships with leaders in academia and industry, and attend prominent conferences.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are free, openly licensed, and open-access teaching materials. OER reduces financial access barriers to students by lowering the costs of textbooks and course supplies, helping to make higher education more equitable and accessible.

Expanding Data Horizons with Redivis

CMU Libraries is committed to providing researchers with support tools across the research cycle. Since January 2023, the Libraries has offered the CMU community access to Redivis, a dynamic data collaboration platform designed to share datasets with collaborators and analyze and visualize data in real-time. Now, the Libraries is seeking more adopters to help further streamline the service model.

CMU Students Travel to Geneva for UN Meeting on Disarmament

In one of many ongoing efforts to reduce the destruction caused by landmines globally, three Carnegie Mellon University students were selected by Mines Action Canada and CMU’s Sustainability Initiative to visit the United Nations and participate in the 21st Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction.
