At Carnegie Mellon University Libraries, we celebrate the many contributions of the faculty and staff who make the Libraries the destination for scholarly information, creative inquiry, and intellectual collaboration across disciplines, propelling the significance, reach, and impact of the university.

STEM Librarian Kristen Scotti presented at the Metascience 2025 Conference in London. Her presentation was titled “AI and Automation in Evidence Synthesis: An Investigation of Methods Employed in Cochrane, Campbell Collaboration, and Environmental Evidence Reviews.”

Scotti also published a paper in Cochrane Evidence Synthesis in Methods investigating the use of AI/ML in evidence syntheses processes, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Evidence Synthesis: An Investigation of Methods Employed in Cochrane, Campbell Collaboration, and Environmental Evidence Reviews.” Social Sciences Librarian Sarah Young and STEM Librarians Melanie Gainey and Haoyong Lan also contributed to the work.

On September 15, STEM Librarian Chasz Griego presented a poster titled "An Immersive Open Science Experience for Student Researchers" at the Open Science Fair 2025 at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.

On September 22nd, Director of the CMU-Q Library Tatiana Usova presented a session titled "AI Literacy for Faculty: Librarians as Agents of Responsible AI Adoption" at the European Conference of Information Literacy.

The certification remains valid for three years and can be renewed through continued professional development.

The University Archives team was nominated for a Teamwork and Collaboration Andy Award. The team, including Collections Archivist Emily Davis, Community Collections Processing Archivist Crystal Johnson, and Robotics Project Interim Lead Archivist Kathleen Donahoe, was recognized for expanding the reach of the Archives on campus, bringing CMU’s history to life for the community.
