Presented by Carnegie Mellon University Libraries and the Software Engineering Institute, the Innovation Roundtable brings together CMU researchers to discuss how innovation and problem solving are enhanced through cross-disciplinary collaboration.

With its emphasis on transformative research and the partnerships that bring them to fruition, the Roundtable provides a forum for the CMU community to learn from and engage in conversations with extraordinary scholars on pioneering research findings. The goal of the Roundtable is to bring light to these partnerships, with a focus on the work of SEI, and demonstrate the ways that the Libraries can support cross-disciplinary collaboration.
A reception with light refreshments will follow the Roundtable.
About the Participants
Ritwik Gupta is a Machine Learning Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute. His focus is on combining machine learning and healthcare to make progress towards solving real, human problems. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Grace A. Lewis is the principal investigator for two research projects related to IoT Security:
“High-Assurance Software-Defined IoT Security” and “Authentication and Authorization of IoT Devices in Tactical Environments.” She also led the work in Tactical Computing and Communications (TCC) that developed tactical cloudlets. The tactical cloudlet software is available as KD-Cloudlet on GitHub. Her areas of expertise include edge computing, cloud computing, software architecture, service-oriented architecture, technology evaluation, IoT security
Roberta (Bobbie) G. Stempfley joined the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute as director of SEI's CERT Division in June 2017. Stempfley previously served as director of cyber strategy implementation at MITRE Corp. and as acting assistant secretary and deputy assistant secretary, Office of Cyber Security and Communications, Department of Homeland Security. A recipient of many awards, she was recognized by CyberScoop as among the Top Women in Cybersecurity, by Federal Computer Week in the Fed 100, and by Information Week as one of the Top 50 Government CIOs.
