- "Vampyre" by Dr. John Polidori - "Vampyre" is a 1819 story inspired at the same house-party where Mary Shelley wrote "Frankenstein." It predates "Dracula" by Bram Stoker (1897), so it’s considered the first novel of a vampire story.
