On October 17, 2017, Rikk Mulligan, digital scholarship strategist with University Libraries, moderated a panel discussion titled "Creation and Consequence" with Jeffrey Bigham, an associate professor of human-computer interaction in the School of Computer Science; David Danks, head of the Department of Philosophy in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Barry Luokkala, a physics professor in the Mellon College of Science; and Molly Steenson, a professor of design in the College of Fine Arts. They discussed their roles as academics studying technological developments, as well as opportunities to influence how artificial intelligence is developed ethically.
