"This Link is Broken" Communicating Effectively in a Global Environment
March 19, 5-6pm
Giant Eagle Auditorium, Baker Hall A51
Carnegie Mellon is a great example of a "global" university, and we are all proud of that. However, as a global university, the potential for misunderstandings exists because of language and cultural differences.
When those from other cultures behave in unexpected ways, people lack necessary strategies and problem-solving techniques to deal with these challenges. The goal of this interactive workshop, led by Rebecca Oreto from the Intercultural Communication Center, is to raise awareness of the factors that may hinder communication when people from different countries, cultures and language groups interact. Register. Free. Pizza!
The GCC is partnering with the Intercultural Communication Center (ICC) to bring you this new workshop.
